Insight Lifetech's Nanosecond Pulsed Field Ablation System Receives NMPA Approval in China

SHENZHEN, China - July 29th, 2026 - Insight Lifetech announced that the Nanosecond Pulsed Field Ablation System, includes LotosPFA™ nsPFA catheter, InBridge™ steerable sheath, and InRythm™ nsPFA generator, has received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). As a non-thermal ablation technology, pulsed field ablation (PFA) offers strong tissue selectivity and low risk of collateral damage. Insight Lifetech's next-generation nanosecond PFA (nsPFA) technology further reduces intraprocedural pain and neuromuscular stimulation, enabling the procedure to be performed smoothly under local anesthesia.

Designed for Patient Comfort

LotosPFA™ is built on Insight Lifetech's proprietary LotoEas™ bipolar, biphasic nanosecond pulse technology, which significantly reduces neuromuscular stimulation during ablation. This allows the procedure to be performed under local anesthesia, reducing reliance on general anesthesia.[1]

Built for Procedural Efficiency

The catheter's LotoLink™ interconnected electrode design links electrodes in a fixed, evenly spaced configuration, ensuring consistent energy release and reliable ablation coverage in a single discharge. LotosPFA™ offers two catheter configurations — spindle and lotus — to accommodate variation in pulmonary vein anatomy. In Insight PFA Trial, this contributed to a 20.4% reduction in ablation time compared with radiofrequency ablation (RFA), with average procedure time shortened by 15 minutes.

Safety-Focused

LotosPFA™ nsPFA catheter’s nanosecond pulse energy precisely targets myocardial cells, leaving the esophagus and surrounding nerves unaffected. In the InsightPFA RCT, no esophageal injury-related complications were observed, and no serious complications such as pulmonary vein stenosis, stroke, or cardiac tamponade occurred; furthermore, no procedure- or device-related serious adverse events were reported.[2]

Key Scientific Milestones

Insight Lifetech’s nanosecond PFA system is the first PFA system with randomized controlled trial (RCT) evidence supporting the entire procedure under local anesthesia. Results from the InsightPFA Trial, which compared Insight Lifetech’s nanosecond PFA system with AI-guided RFA, were selected for the Late-Breaking Clinical Trials session at the ESC Congress 2025 and published in the JACC in 2025, demonstrating the clinical value of nsPFA technology.[3] Insight Lifetech’s nanosecond PFA system is also the only Chinese-developed product included in the 2026 HRS/EHRA Joint Scientific Statement on Pulsed Field Ablation for Cardiac Arrhythmias, issued by the HRS and the EHRA.[4]
